H.E Dr.Talal Abu Ghazaleh

Born on April 22, 1938 in Jaffa, is the Chairman and Founder of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Organization. Founded in 1972 (TAG-Org) is an international professional services group, employing more than 2000 professionals  and operating out of its 73 offices in the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan, India, Cyprus and China. Mrs. Magda Hussein Zaki,Director of department of Education and Scientific Research, League of Arab States

Magda H. Zaki is a graduate of the American University in Cairo where she majored in Political Science. . During her years of college, she had the chance to participate in an exchange program in Grand Rapid State College –MI-US, as well as to travel intensively for courses in China (1978) and the US (1980).

In 2000, she received her M.A with honors from the same university; her thesis topic was “National Identity in Central Asia in the Post Soviet Era… the case of Uzbekistan” which was partly written while visiting the countries of Central Asia in the late 90's,  Between 1980 and 1990, she joined her family's business working with different international co-operations such as Rockwell Int. (USA) , Mitsubishi (Japan) etc... Around 1993, she made a career change and decided to work in her field of studies where she joined the League of Arab States.

Between 1993 and 2005, she worked  in the Arab Fund for Development and Cooperation in Africa, a Fund affiliated to the Arab league focusing on "Development in less fortunate Sub-Saharan African Countries", Then, in 2005 she joined the department of the Americas, where she was promoted as head of the division of North America focusing and researching US-Arab relations during the Bush II administration.

In 2008 she became director of the department of the Dialogue among Civilizations until 2013 when she became director of the department of Education and Scientific research tilting her focus from political to social affairs.

- ICT & KNOWLEDGE CEO Excellence Award 2011, by Middle East Excellence Awards Institute.

- Distinguished Government Employee Award, Dubai Government Excellence Program 2005. This Award was conferred by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

- Dubai Police Medal, the highest honor Dubai Police. Conferred by the Ruler of Dubai in November 2005

- Certificate of Creativity & Innovation by Dubai Police May 2002

Major Achievements: - The founder of the first TQM Department (Total Quality Management Department at Dubai Police) when he was appointed as a Director, and held that position from 1998 till 2006. He was the first Director of quality in the public sector in the Emirate of Dubai and UAE.

- The founder of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University which was known as e-TQM College since its first inception in 2002 and then Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University in 2009.

- He has several initiatives at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University, he was the first founder of the Excellence in Leadership Award in the Arab world in April 2005. The Award holds the name of (Feigenbaum) the Quality Management Scholar.

- Furthermore, he has established Joran Chair at HBMSU for the first time in the history of the region in 2004. It is also worth enough to mention that Dr. Mansoor has established the Virtual Executive Club in 2003 in addition to the Media Quality Award for the Arab World in 2004.

- The founder of the Emirates Business Women Award at Dubai Quality Group in 2002, and he was the first elected Chairman of Dubai Quality Group of the Government Sector in 2001.

- The founder of Public Opinion Survey Center in Dubai Police in 2001.

 

Prof. Dr. Anne LequyRector in Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, Germany

Anne Lequy received an MA degree in German as a Foreign Language (1994) and an MA degree in English Studies (1996) from the University of Metz (France). In 1999 she completed her PhD in German Literature (European Doctorate, doctorat en cotutelle, Leipzig and Metz). From 1998 until 2006 she lectured in French at various German universities. Since 2006 Dr. Lequy has been Professor of Technical Communication (German-French translation) at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Her research work focuses on gender and didactics, especially on computer-assisted language and translation learning / teaching. She also works as a sworn translator for several German institutions. From 2010 to 2014 she was Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at the University, responsible for the third-party-funded "Qualitätspakt Lehre" ("Teaching Quality Pact") financed by the German Federal Government and the Länder. Since 2014 Dr. Lequy has been Rector of Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.

 

Dr. Terence Clifford  Terence has spent more than 20 years in higher education in the UK and still holds a visiting lectureship at the UniversitéCatholique de Lille, France.  He is a former Visiting Fellow of  the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and is well published in English Language, English Literature and Education.  He has also published on the Bologna Process. Terence has been Chief Executive and Mayor of Sandwich, Kent (2010-11) and Speaker of the English Cinque Ports during the same period, has advised governments in several countries and has been influential in working towards establishing a Central Asian Higher Education Area with colleagues in Kyrgyzstan.

During the past 5 years Terence has visited more than 30 countries, making contributions to university reformand quality assurance, and is a  member of Quality Assurance Agencies in Bulgaria, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan  Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland and the UK. He has led international QA teams and has undertaken many reviews audits and accreditions.  In Armenia, he has engaged in staff training for QA, has been an evaluator of national science projects (medicine, veterinary medicine, forestry and agriculture) in Bulgaria and is currently an international trainer with the Slovenian QA Agency (Nakvis). Terence has worked with the European Commission in Brussels, as a Jury member for ECTS and Diploma Supplement labels, and as a researcher and presenter for major projects both in the Eastern Partnership countries and  the Western Balkans. He has also been an international consultant for projects in Kosova and Serbia, where in the latter, he has also worked as a film critic for Silafest.  A regular keynote speaker in many countries, Terence enjoys sharing with new audiences and making new friends.

Dr. Paul Lefrere, Scientific Director, European project (TELL ME) 

Dr Paul is a global thought-leader in e-learning and e-skills, and related areas including: knowledge media; cognitive augmentation; open innovation; and open educational resources. He is a visiting professor of e-learning and the holder of honorary appointments internationally, as well as a board-level adviser to leading private-sector and public-sector organizations, including universities in the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Previously Microsoft's Executive Director for eLearning, and currently leading consortia in the development of the next generation of knowledge services and associated career opportunities for today’s students and workers, he has a long history of anticipating emerging needs and then co-developing ways to respond to those needs. As an example: he co-founded the UK eLearning Centre, CETIS (funded by the UK’s JISC to represent the interests of all UK universities in all areas of eLearning including quality, standards and specifications and learning networks). One of his current responsibilities is leading the scientific research and take-up of the multi-industry/multi-university project TELL ME, which is cross-fertilizing multiple fields. Examples include e-learning research and practice in higher education; quality practices from manufacturing industry (eg from the Factories of the Future program); creating more and better jobs to replace jobs that smart machines will take; research into organizational agility, change management and capacity development; Human Resource Development; advances in Knowledge Management, Knowledge Media and Internet of Things.
